Apple Music + Siri Hands Feee = GOLD
I apologize in advance if this is not in the right part of the forum. The following was done in my 4GS so I figured it was appropriate here:
So yesterday I updated my iPhone and signed up for the free three month trial of Apple Music. As a paying subscriber to Spotify, I was pretty excited to hear that Apply was opening the floodgates of their music library for a monthly subscription fee all while integrating it within the existing music app that comes with the iPhone. My gripe with using iTunes and Spotify together is that I have music I listen to through their app and music I listen to thru the native IPhone music app.
So after signing up, I tested Apple Music out in my car using Siri Hands Free and it's absolutely amazing. The best part of the whole thing is that since the entire iTunes music catalog is essentially streamed through the music app (which has always been voice command enabled with Siri), you can voice command her to play ANY song or album that is in the iTunes catalog... Not just ones that are in your playlists or saved to your phone. I was rattling off random songs to play and she was finding them within seconds!
Highly recommend!

Correct. Unless they issued a patch or firmware upgrade for 2013 models, this was a new feature for 2014+ only.

I am not a fan that stations that are saved are no longer usable through the "browse" function. It will show in the playlist menu, but there is no way to make it play through the menu

I have not signed up for Apple music yet, but this sounds awesome. Kinda fitting as the original iPhone was released 8 years ago in June. That was a HUGE game changer in all of our lives, even if your current smart phone isn't an Apple one.
RIP pandora, slacker etc. Only Google music will be big enough to compete with this.

Totally agree, this is GOLD! The speed in which the song is found then played is amazing!
Wow, this is a brand spanking new update for the iPhone that now gives us access to Apples entire library with a simple request to Siri !! And they are giving us Canadian's access to the service as well
2013 owners can still use the service via Bluetooth. They just won't be able to take advantage of the hands free aspect of the car to access the music.

So 2013 owners are out of luck? Well there is the Apple Watch and it has Siri.

Out of luck for a totally hands free, car-integrated experience. You can still voice command Siri directly through the phone by holding the home button on your iPhone. By no means a deal breaker.

I am loving this. Siri gets the album, song, or even just a general request like play 90's music or play some Rock. It will even "play the artist's latest album" if you don't recall the album name.

In my 2013 GS 350, I have my iPhone in a ProClip mount on the dash. I keep it plugged in to a power adapter in the center console and connect to the internal system via Bluetooth. I can long press the Mode button on my steering wheel to mute whatever is playing and use "Hey Siri" to launch her hands free and have her play whatever I desire from what Apple Music has available. I'm liking it a lot.
