How much do replacement windshields cost for our cars?
A rock left me with a nice spider web on my windshield today while on the highway, I set up an appointment tmrw, I can have it filled for free otherwise my deductible is $500 for a new windshield, I'm just wondering how expensive the Lexus ones are since I've heard windshields with rain sensing wipers cost a lot more or if there's aftermarket ones that retain the feature and how they've worked out for you. Thanks alot

$150 here in TX with rain sensor with lifetime warranty. Think glass is sitting a little too low after it settle in. Hearing glass rubbing on dash. Having them redo it soon. Pretty sure they knocked some felt off. This is from a company that installs windshield from dealership =X

I believe my Chinese XYG glass pits worse than the OEM did. I was blaming this on a coating that the shop put on to shed water but I am really thinking now it is the glass. I have read that the cheap jobber glass as sometimes over hardened which makes it more prone to chip and pit. My car is an 07 and I replaced the OEM glass in 2015. After one winter the pitting is almost as bad as the eight year old glass.I replaced. I will look for a different manufacturer next time. Not married to OEM but I will look for North American made next time. Pilkington is world wide but I think their standards are likely to be more reliable than the Asian aftermarket.

I had to replace my windshield when I bought the car...I went with a PGW windshield. It is the closest look you can get to oem. It has the natural curve that our oem windshields have. I have had it for almost 2 years now no problems. I paid around $400 installed.
