Hard knock from the rear when breaking hard!
Hi everyone,
Im a new member here at CL, have been in the forums for a big while but never signed up until today...
I own a stock GS300 2007 RWD doing about 80K miles here in Thailand. Im facing one critical issue with my ride. While driving normally if I hit the brake hard the car seems to loose power then there is a hard knock from the rear which knocks the car forward. I think it is caused from the downshift of the gear, but im not quite sure. It happens often in the same kind of situation.
Have anyone every heard of this issue? Any advices would be appreciated

That's strange. Might want to try a battery reset. There are members here that have had SIMILAR issues, but it wasn't a transmission issue, it was the braking ECU or something, I forgot the name of it. Anywho, my buddy down here in FL had the same problem. I can text him and see if his did the downshift thing. If I do recall though, his car was just the brakes stopping, letting go, and stopping again. It's kind of freaky and an accident hazard on his and your part.

I've noticed a similar thing - but only with ECT PWR on.
Do you have ECT PWR on all the time?
I thought this was just transmission trying to go to low gear when braking so that we can accelerate faster after braking.
