Default Stop tech rotors

I bought a set of stop tech rotors drilled and slotted. After having them on for about 5k miles I'm getting vibrations when I'm slowing down so I'm guessing they are warped already. Does anyone else sell a better crossed drilled rotor for a decent price that won't end up like the stop tech rotors. Thanks

Did you bed them in correctly? Going up to 45 and hard braking up to 6-10 times without making a complete stop? If you didn't then this can occur with any rotors you buy if you don't bed them in properly. I have a set of brand new slotted rears from R1Concepts for cheap if you're interested.

FWIW - I have been running the r1 slotted rotors for about 6 mos with no issues. Change pad when you change rotors out and bed them in and all should be well.

Is the vibration noticable in the steering wheel? Or does the brake pedal seem to pulsate?
If you are not getting any pulsation in the steering wheel its most likely the rear rotors that are warped.

I have no vibration in the steering wheel and I mostly have it when exiting the freeway or stopping quickly.

What pads are you using?
GS300 or GS350/430/460?
Sounds like you need to get out and drive hard on the rotors to re-bed (re-seat) the pads/rotors.

I'm using EBC red pads.

I had the same issue with Stop Tech cross drilled rotors on my GS430.. Happened twice actually, the first time Tire Rack sent me a new set half off but they did the same thing.

Going back to OE Rotors from the Lexus dealer.. Installing them Saturday so I am hoping for better results..

As others have suggested or mentioned, make sure you have bedded in the brake pads to the rotors properly and for the duration of 200-500 brake miles. This is to ensure that the brake pad compound beds onto the new rotors evenly. Any early hard braking during the break-in period will cause unevenness and that is where you will run into vibration issues. Other things to look out for is to make sure you have the rotor seated onto the hub evenly, bolted the wheels back on in a star/cross configuration, and torqued to spec. Any unevenness will give you a bit of vibration.

I ordered my last 2 slotted sets from brakeperformancedotcom and those were fine. This go around I picked them up from my local auto parts, installed and have about 5k miles on them. Very happy with my purchase. I feel a lot more confident if I were to have a warping issues, my local autoparts shop will back up their parts. I Spent less that 80 bucks because of a $20 Coupon. Keep in mind, I have to change my pads about every 1.5 years. So i'm hard on my brakes.

My biggest thing on warping, do not apply any water to rotors if you were to wash my car after a drive. My rotors are staying true vs. back in the days when i used to wet them when cleaning wheels.
