Key Fob Programming Problem

Key Fob Programming Problem
Just bought an 08 GS350. It came with only one Electronic Key Fob. Dealership charges $270 for a new one + $59 for programming. To save money I have decided to buy a replacement fob from Ebay (all #s on the back of key fob match mine). I brought two different one and dealer couldn't program either one. From what I understand the key fob is not being programmed, but the car to receive the signal from fob.
Any recommendations how to get one programmed? I don't want to end up in a situation where I loose the only key fob.
Thanks any help!

sorry to hear dude. your not alone here. I am in the same situation. I also bought a used smart key from ebay for $50 and took it to the dealer but they could not re-program it. They still charged me $60 for the labor. I'm wondering if I should just put out the money for a new key from the dealer. Has any fellow member been able to get their keys reprogrammed?

I bought my car from a third-party dealer with one key. He got me a key from lexus much cheaper but never programmed. From what i know you can only program the fobs once and that's it.
