2jz-ge Knock on Startup
Hi guys.
I've been storing my car at my parents for the last month and a half without running. I will need to start using it now regularly again and so tonight I was picking it up and when I started it it had a very very heavy and loud knock! I shut it off right away and then when and did a once over quickly, noticed oil was quote low (just in tolerance) I topped it to half, as I expected quite some amount of oil to be stuck in the sump. I started it again and listened. It sounded top of engine, and as the car warmed up it did eventually go. I have only been able to start it cold that one time so far but wanted to ask before I start needing to use it on a 110km round trip daily travel for four weeks. Do you think it was just oil settling and the cams making noise? I will probably need to replace the rocker cover gaskets again shortly as I had them done by a shop and they are leaking again I noticed while looking around tonight. I will be able to inspect the cams then if need be.
Thanks in advance fellas.
