Default Real time help: Sound like a bad coolant temp sensor?

EDIT: Turns out I trusted the mechanics too much. Loose negative battery cable was making my transmission go funny and they didn't reconnect the fan switch on the bottom of the radiator, which made my car take FOREVER to warm up and sucked my gas tank dry only 13 miles after the light turned on. So that explained the stumbling, the fans, and the tranny, all in one quick easy fix.

So in the last few days, the transmission has been slipping at takeoff, the car started stumbling really bad when I cold started it yesterday morning, and five minutes ago, when I was about to leave for the dealer to get parts, I noticed that the radiator fans were firing up when I turned the key to ON. Didn't even start the engine.

Sound like a bad temp sensor to anyone else?

If temp. sensor is bad, you'd have a starting/idling problem. Isn't there a relay switch for fans? Also I suspect mechanic left the fan plug off.
