Default Mark Levinson Amplifier Compatability

Hi guys, I'm wondering if there is any compatability between the different Lexus model amplifier part numbers shown below?

I have a 2001 GS430 and looking to replace my faulty amp. I would like to know if I can get an amp from another Lexus model shown below?

Anyone know?

Someone's gotta know.

There are so many of these amps with different part numbers and they all look the same. I don't want to specifically hold out for a GS amp is the RX, ES, GX, LS will work in my GS.

I remember a thread on here regarding different GS amp that will work. I think the last two digit of the amp ending in 31 or 32 will work.

That's interesting. -30, -31, -32 are all from 01-05 GS from what I understand.

I notice that the connector plugs look to be identical on some of the other models in those years. I've found some pretty cheap ML amps for SC and RX out there but don't want to pull the trigger unless I am sure they will work.

Thank you for the reply.

I have the 30 and have the same problem you talk about however, it only happens in extreme hot weather. In the winter my audio is good as new. I am not too sure if the other Lexus model amp will work as i do not know if it will support all the speakers the GS/Nav. option the GS have.

Just to update this post.

I swapped out the 2001 -30 with a 2004 -32.

It was an easy swap and everything works great. It does appear that -30, -31, and -32 are all interchangeable.

This thread is years old, but figured I should contribute.
My 2003 GX470 ML Amp 86280-0W140 blew two of the MOSFET Amps on the circuit board, I purchased and soldered on two new MOSFETS that i ordered from China. Reconnected and the AMP still did nothing. The Diag screen showed DSP / AMP OK but no audio.

I was pissed and assumed that I would need to send my unit out, or go spend $500 on a refurbished unit.

I trolled my local craigslist and found a 86280-0W040, which is from the LS430, went to meet the seller, plugged unit in and speakers came back on. Apparently there is some compatibility between these units. I am assuming there is more interchangeable then this.

RomanDiaz,
Did you install the LS430 amp into your GX470? Did you lose any functionality? Thanks!

It installed fine, everything worked. But part of me believes the power output for the sub on the GX, SC and LS AMPs is tuned a little different.
I lost no functionality.

I just had to steal the fan from the old GX Amp that failed, and put it into my SC 430 AMP, that worked perfectly as well.

Also, now that I have an SC, I installed an 8 Inch slimfit sub under the seat, used the AMPs output into the Slimfit powered sub... amazing improvement!
