There are many contradictory statements here concerning the transmission fluid. I want my car to last beyond 200k miles and trying to see who else is like me and need to do proper maintenance on the fluid.
That's why they recommend inspecting it at every 30K and replacing it if necessary. You can inspect it and replace it as frequently as you feel necessary. Toyota/Lexus has spelled out what the proper maintenance is but you are free to go as much beyond that as you need to make yourself feel feel comfortable if you don't believe them and their engineers.
