Default 2000 ES300 Lost Keys=Need New ECU??

Lost the last of my keys (came w/2: 1 stolen, 1 wormhole) and can not find any other option than going to the dealership; no one will even try to say they can do it. Talked, in person, w/ 2 dealerships in Denver and while their "reasonings" were resolute in having me tow it in, order-ship-install a new ECU to my car, pay ~ $700 after tax as the only possible way to get it going, they couldn't explain why they absolutely, positively can't flash/sync/program/whatever a 4th and new master key the same way they did the original 3. That information has to be available somewhere.

I'm asking:
Is there any way to bypass this 5-day process + towing of getting a new ECU installed while ensuring OEM parts & service? Not anxious to get a particularly aftermarket or black market job, but there's got to be a way around this. There a way to bypass the existing ECU itself and get it to assign a new chip/key as the master?

Thanks

You either have to replace the ECU with a new, "virgin" unit and program it, or have the existing ECU flashed so it will accept new keys. There is no other way around this. Hopefully someone here knows of a locksmith or tech that can reprogram the ECU for you.

Try and contact a few locksmiths they may be able to help reprogram the ECU.

BTW: $700 is actually a really good deal. The key's themselves sell for around $200, although one could get it for $167 with the CL Discount at Sewell. I'd imagine the ECU is more expensive than the keys, and considering they are installing it and programming the keys, they are probably not making much money. Are they giving you a loaner car, if you decide to get it done here?
