Default ecu reflased

whats up guys im posting this thread so that if any of you guys find yourself in the situation i was in there's help i recently lost my master key and it was the only one i had so when i ask about a new one and programming it i was told i would need a new ecu for 2000 and thats not including the cost of a new key and then i was told on this site that the older model 98-00 gs could not be reflased but i was also told to get in touch with aliga and he proved them and the dealership wrong he not only reflased my ecu but provided me with two new master keys for a third of the price so if any one looses their masters you do not have to buy a new ecu aliga did it for me in record timing and was very helpful all the way through helping me program it i know it sounds like a commercial but im happy that he saved me so much dough

Why did it cost so much? I got a brand new master key off Ebay for $80, programmed it with the included instructions and just payed to have it cut. I think it cost me around $150 for the whole deal and took about 5 minutes to program. The locksmith came and cut it out of his mobile lock service van so I didnt even have to go anywhere to get it cut. Is that some sort of secret or something? A third of $2000 is just under $700, why was it so much?

he lost the master key, once you loose the master, you need to reflash the ecu.

Once you lose your master key you can't program anymore keys to your car. You need your master key to program new keys. When I bought my car it only came with the master key and the valet key so my first "mod" was a new master key.
