Default Upgrading Remote Touch on 13-15 ES from '16 parts

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if its possible to change/upgrade the non (enter) button Remote Touch on the 13-15 ES to the new 2016 version:

I find it troublesome to push down on the control each time I want to select, I feel like my fingers slip at times and the motion is just altogether somewhat awkward.

I know that the navigation operating system is very similar (if not identical to the 2016); hoping its possible!

That's a cool idea! I have a 2014 ES/UL. I just called the local Lexus dealer parts department and he said there is no such upgrade. Now, that's the "official" channel, granted. I would guess, however, that the wiring might be slightly different and even if the same, the software driving it/receiving the button signals would have to change to "hear" the other buttons. Cool idea, but I don't have hope in it.... =)

I think that while it might be possible (or maybe not) the cost would be prohibitive. And yes, I do like the 2016 setup better than the prior one.

And you would face the usual "that voids your warranty" for any related problems.

Treat your remote controller different than a "house mouse". If you try
grasping both side of the the block with thumb and finger you can
move it around and easily press down. Laying a couple fingers on
the top and swirling it around then leaning into it will result in a
slide off failed press nearly every time,

Wiring diagram shows the same seven (7) wires, six plus a ground for both
2013-2015 and the new 2016 controllers. All circuit labels are the same.
Physically similar, earlier model has five (5) screws holding unit upper to
lower, 2016 has four (4).

forget the remote touch controller... i would try to get the shifter. didnt know how 16 ES looks way better when compared with 13 - 15. the remote touch wont make a big difference with the amount of work put in IMO.

I'm not sure what kind of signals the Remote Touch controller sends. I've got an aftermarket unit and it acts like an ASCII keyboard, sending left or right commands when moved. I assume the 2016 unit works the same way.
