Dollar for dollar the lincoln is about 4-5k cheaper spec'd out. You lose a lot on the size of the car and seat comfort on long haul's. If you dont need the larger space it certainly is a worthwhile option and the new software update for the hybrid system should push it well ahead of the es300h if you are going the hybrid route.

It was the C-Max that had the issue with MPG being overstated, the Lincoln MKZ is rated at 45 MPG. I also have a 2011 MKZ and routinely got 40-42 and even 44mpg on longer trips (it was rated at 41mpg). I bought and love my 2013 ES300h especially the ML sound system and the Lexus dealer network and service, This is my first Lexus after several Fords and Lincolns. I would still consider a Lincoln MKZ if there was a decent local dealer network (actual Lincoln not Ford) with a luxury rather than a volume outlook on service.

"and the Lincoln will be discounted big"
With good reason...
I may have mentioned this previously - I have a neighbor who has a CMax and gets great mileage, just a bit below EPA, and doesn't do anything special as far as driving. There are so many variables that come into play when it comes to fuel efficiency it is hard to determine whether the issue is the car or the driver. Just on this forum, there is a large variance in the fuel efficiency of the 300h - there are many that exceed EPa and many that don't.

I got the UL for the ambient lighting and the rear window screens. I know, I am an idiot.... I had the dynamic radar cruise on my LS... was pretty cool but not practical in urban areas for reasons mentioned above. Still not sure why the UL doesn't come with heated rear seats... ???

I test drove the MKZ prior to purchasing my ES300h. The MKZ is SEVERELY underpowered. It drove me nuts driving it. I did love the radar cruise and the speed limit notifications in the navigation, but couldn't get over the lack of power.
