I'm going to remove my gold emblems. They are fading and I don't really care for them in the first place. I've researched the forum and I've noted the procedure to remove the emblem. However, no one has stated whether the emblems are universal for all Lexus models. Obviously, the model name will be different, but are the "L" emblems all the same size? I'm assuming thatthey are. It appears that the later models do not have the pegs. Also, I have a 94 ES. Are the emblems a pain to remove from the tail light ?
There was some mention that the gold plated emblems are chrome underneath. Hence, you can have someone remove the gold plating w/o taking them off of the car. There wasn't a lot of detail on this option. Any feedback\insight on this ?
Finally, any recommendations on where to purchase them other than the dealer or Ebay ?
Thanks.

i already have removed the emblems
and there are holes to fill on every emblem
the es one i removed as well but it has to be done carefully or it will crack the plastic
you can have a high speed buffer used to remove the old gold and bring it back to chrome also
may have to use a dremel to finish the edges
every model is a different size emlem
and what do you want to purchase gold or chrome?

Every year has a different size ?
I want to purchase chrome emblems. However, removing the gold from my current emblems may be the way to go. Would you go to a body shop to have this done ?

no i said that every model has different sizes
most es 300 92-96 should have the same size
a body shop is not worth it
take it to a detailer who has a high speed buffer to remove th gold
or buy a dremel and do it yourself
rubbing compund on the emblem only as it is not made for our paint would also work well and cheap

Thanks for the repsonse. I find it odd that out of all of the on-line listings for emblems that I've seen not one mentions the year\model of the vehicle it was for\from. That's why I assumed they were all the same size.
