Where to get the key cut
I am based in New Jersey and own an ES330. Last week, I broke the key shell. Bought an OEM shell with an uncut key. Now I am wondering where to get it cut. The dealer doesn't do it and told me that the keys come cut from the factory and places like Home Depot are no help. A local locksmith quoted me $180. Any idea where should I go?

looks like your only option is find another locksmith or buy another key shell from this seller on ebay, they will cut from a keycode or photo of your current key.

Do have an Ace Hardware near you? Mine can do car keys that have chips in them and such. Just had my brother's lincoln done.
I've cracked the shell on mine, but was able to use parts from a new one to repair it? Did you actually crack that the key is attached?

These guys do a first rate job for a great price. Just got a full 3 button remote from them with cut key from pic. Also ordered another one.
Your regular transponder key would be easy, just follow the programming instructions and it may take a few times if you do it too slow or too fast.

Both of my key shells have cracked. The plastic Lexus used on these key shells is shockingly thin.
Just this week one of them decided to dump my transponder in an unknown location, so I had a replacement key made at a local hardware store for 75 dollars. I then ordered another one off ebay and will use it with the key blade I have.

Oh man... sorry you bought the wrong key... That's a common mistake. If any future breakage or replacement keys are needed - ask your nearby Lexus dealer for the Eternity Key. It's the strongest key on the market, has a lifetime warranty and will be the last key you ever buy. Trust the Eternity Key. Visit www.eternitykey.com for dealer locations and info.
