Where to Recut 03' GS300 key?
This probably has been discussed several times but I could not find anything in the Socal region. Im trying to get some keys recut because I accidently damaged mine yesterday. I called Lexus of Westminster for a quote to recut 2 new aftermarket keys I purchased online awhile back. They told me that they could not guarantee that they could cut them because the metal is not the same as the OEM key and that they will cost me $50 per key if they can recut them.
The price isn't an issue, its the fact that they cant guarantee to cut the keys is concerning me and I don't want to waste my time driving there. Is there a locksmith or a place where anyone can recommend cutting my aftermarket keys? The Locksmiths on Craigslist sounds shady when i told them it was for a 03 Lexus GS300, for some apparent reason, the price doubled when they heard Lexus.

Call around. I had keys cut long ago and the price at the dealer was acceptable. $15 for the non chipped blank and $30 for a transponder key. Why they charge more for the transponder chipped key is it is what it is.
