Thanks. The Outback may not be the car for everyone, but it is designed the way it is for good reason.....and, like some other Subarus, developed a cult-like following.

Sorry for the mistake, but the compliment for your reviews remain......and yes, please do more testing.

Cool.

Hoping to replace the little woman's CRV with one of these....would love to see a small turbocharged engine in this thing someday. I am enjoying 37 MPG Hwy in my WRX...wouldn't need all of that power in the Outback of course, but after having 3 Legacies with the 2.5L, well that engine is 20 years old now and the day of large 4 cylinders has come and gone IMO.

I am a member of subaruoutback.org and another member posted the future strategy of Subaru. It includes DI boxer engines for the Legacy and Outback for 2016 or 2017 and hybrid engines by expanding their cooperation with Toyota. In fact, one of the members who is currently living in China has a brochure of the 2015 Outback that will debut there, In the brochure, there is an optional DI engine available as the 2015 is released. Check out these 2 forums if you are interested in Subaru: http://www.subaruoutback.org/index.php http://www.cars101.com/ I'd enjoy driving a WRX for the thrill, but I'm afraid it would ruin me for the Outback. I'll look for the strategy report and post it here.
