They do that just to rile the auto press, and to keep them (and many others) guessing just what the final production version will look like. The problem, though, is that that can backfire on them.

Not seeing too much of the 3 since I see the size differences (compact vs midsize) and their beltlines don't match.
Take a look at how many mid-size sedans are starting to look alike from the side profile in particular the belt-line and C-Pillar window, like this camoed Verano if you look closely. I'm sure I'm missing some too. I'm starting to think the 2015 Camry is now becoming the more distinct one and everything else vanilla!
Windowless solid C-pillar and "vertical stick" in the side rear window unlike the above sedans.
