I highly doubt Zach is using ScratchX, he's a pro. He's probably using a Meguiars, Menzerna, or the more recent Griots polishes that he mentioned in his previous posts.
I'd recommend using Meguiars 205 or 100 if your panels are REALLY scratched up bad.

The photos don't show it well because silver carbon fiber really hides defects well, but my trim was in bad shape.
I compounded with Griot's Fast Correcting Cream + MF Cutting pad, then polished with Meguiar's M205 on a Rupes Yellow Polishing Pad.
When you say instrument display, you mean the clear plastic over the gauge cluster? I've personally never polished that, but I don't see why it would be any different than polishing anything else. Start with something very mild and work your way up as needed. I don't know how scratch x compares to something like M205 in terms of abrasives. I have never used Scratch X.

Yes Zach, I mean the clear plastic over the gauge cluster. I'll take your advice. It's in pretty good shape but at certain angles and light, you can see it's not perfect. I don't want to mess around and make it worse!
