dangers of driving over broken glass
is there a real danger of driving over some broken glass thats left over from an accident? or will it just eventually fly off as my tires spin?

Glass tends to crumble with the weight of a vehicle over it, unlike a nail or screw etc. which doesn't have any "give" in it.
You should be ok.
It's certainly possible that it could slice into your sidewall and such, but the steel reinforcing on the treads tend to pulverize it for the most part.
I've actually done it more than a few times and never had to replace or repair the tire from it. Good luck!

My Michelin CrossTerrains are notorious for picking up rocks and even those glass chips, especially down here, and I find myself taking a flat head screwdriver and picking the glass pieces out of the tire every week. I have only heard of one issue even down here from someone, and in that case his tires were already so far worn down, you could blow and them and they would pop.

Car accident glasses won't hurt your tires. Auto safety glass is designed to break into little pieces with no sharp edges. It'd be like running over tiny pebbles.
That said, do avoid any type of debris as much as you can.
