My wife an I saw the Ls460 at the ATL auto show yesterday. The shoulder room and head room are noticibly tighter. I had the Lexus rep to sit in both cars ( Ls 430 & 460)for me as they were both on display. He aggreed with my observation. I am a big guy with broad shoulders and the present car has just enough room between me and the B post. I have to have the seat all the way back. I doubt if it will be big enough.

What else can you tell us about the 460 at the show? Your impressions? Any pictures? What were the colors of the exterior and interior of the 460's there? Any new 460 literature? Any insights from the Lexus people there? Sorry to bombard you with questions...

Since the car was on the display, I could only look, not sit in the car. But clearly, the car is much bigger in dimensions than the 430. Not exactly how this translates into interor room but IMO, the car in long wheelbase form seems to have tons of room and I am 6"5 220.
Would you say that - looking at the 460 from the outside - it LOOKS bigger than the 430?

to me, the ls460 (not the lwb) actually looks a bit smaller than the ls430. it doesn't look as square as the ls430 if you know what i mean. my wife and my friend also felt the same way
however i can't say much about the shoulder room and head room. for sure the ls460 is a bit more aerodynamic looking, maybe that's why the feeling of less head room. but then i am not too tall, and i don't put my seat very straight up, so i always have a lot of room. just how i feel about it

IMO, it looks bigger. You can tell the size b/c its a taller car and the small chrome stip on the sides tries to break up the mass, but you can tell its a big car. The grill seems bigger, headlights seem about the same size.
Looing at the both 430 and 460 on display, it really makes the 430 look very square outside the front end of the 430. The 460 seems larger and more styled but not OVERSTYLED, which sadly seems to be a trend today

I highly agree. The 430 is very "boxy" compared to the 460. The design of the new LS seems longer and lower as it has a "windswept" look. Inside, I found both comparably roomy. Definately NOT overstyled. That's what American cars are for...
