Lexus GS400 Advice
Hello all! I am new to this forum and am finding a lot of useful information on Lexus ownership. I actually do not currently own a Lexus, but I am in search of a Lexus GS400, preferably between 1998 and 2000. The GS4's that I am finding within my price range on average are over 100k miles. I am looking for any advice as to what I should be looking out for in terms of maintenance. Is there maybe a list of items available that I should look for/ask about from sellers of GS4s of what has been changed/updated/not changed/etc so I may make the most informed decision when purchasing one? Some common things that I am finding is changing the water pump, timing belt, and serpentine belt. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Check to see if the 90k service has been done. I believe that includes what you mentioned with the timing belt, water pump etc. Also, I would check to see if the starter has been replaced or if the car has any starter issues. The GS400 models were known for the starters going. I had mine replaced at 80k. Getting the starter replaced is not a cheap fix.
