Legacy of Luxury

The Lexus LX has been a key player in the full-size luxury SUV space since its debut back in the 1996 model year, but is relatively fresh off arguably its most comprehensive redesign for the 2022 model year. At that time, the LX was treated to a full-blown redo complete with new styling, a new interior, loads of new tech, and of course, a pair of twin-turbocharged V6 engines that replaced the old, outgoing naturally-aspirated V8. Thus, the 2024 LX 600 doesn't have any major changes to offer, but there are a lot of things worth knowing about the latest version of the popular luxury SUV.

Trim Levels

Lexus offers the LX 600 in a variety of grades that include the base model, the LX 600 Premium, F Sport Handling, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury. The LX 600 F Sport Handling is the sporty option, offering up distinctive exterior touches like unique 22-inch forged aluminum wheels and a mesh design spindle grille with a jet-black chrome grille frame, plus performance upgrades such as tuned dampers, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and a rear stabilizer. As for the Ultra Luxury, it lives up to its name by transforming the second-row seating area into something you'd typically only see in a higher-end vehicle like a Rolls Royce.

Powertrain

The LX 600 continues to move forward with just one engine choice - the twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 making 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which is mated to the Direct Shift-10AT transmission. It was a massive change for the LX when it debuted in 2022, but thus far, not too many people seem to miss the old V8 - a testament to the new engine's smooth power.

Suspension

The suspension of the LX 600 is a bit more trick, as it aims to combine the brand's Lexus Driving Signature characteristics with the competent off-road performance that the big SUV is known for. It accomplishes that with the combination of the Active Height Control (AHC) system and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), which allows the ride height to be adjusted according to the driving environment, responds to changes in vehicle posture such as pitch and roll, and it stabilizes vehicle posture during turning, acceleration, and deceleration by optimizing the spring rate as needed.

Tech Features

As is typical with any Lexus vehicle, the 2024 LX 600 also comes equipped with a bevy of tech and adaptive driving features aimed at keeping its occupants safe. That includes Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which includes a full suite of active safety features to the mix, including Pre-Collision System (PCS), Frontal Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection and Bicyclist Detection, Emergency Steering Assist (ESA), and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), among others.

Pricing

Perhaps the most surprising thing about the 2024 LX 600 is its price, which has not changed year-over-year, even as pretty much everything else has gotten more expensive. That means that sans delivery charges, the base model starts out at $92,915, with the range-topping Ultra Luxury setting you back at least $133,490.
