1. Lowering the Stance

A lowered Lexus is almost a must on Club Lexus. There is nothing more visually pleasing than a Lexus with a low-Bulldog stance. Whether you want to modify your Lexus for the looks, or if you actually want to take its handling to the next level on the track, lowering your Lexus can be just the perfect modification for you. Here are some members commenting on a newly lowered 4th Gen GS.

2. Aftermarket Exhaust

Forum members love the Borla exhaust. Club Lexus enthusiast Lmood described the Borla exhaust as loud upon start-up, then quiets down as the car warms up. This is the perfect way to make your Lexus roar just enough, without being too obnoxious.

3. Rims

It is not modified until you put aftermarket rims on it. If you really want to have a custom Lexus, you need to replace the rims, and nothing looks better than nice, sleek black rims on a smooth-looking Lexus. If you're not a fan of black rims, most rims will still take your Lexus to the next level, as long as they don't look like factory stock.

4. Painted Brake Calipers

This is a small modification, yet it completely changes the looks of your Lexus. Painting the brake calipers with professional brake caliper paint can truly complement your wheels. You can choose almost any color you want, and it is guaranteed to make your Lexus pop. Just be sure you cover the surrounding components when you're painting, be bold with your color, and you will have something special.

5. Cold Air Intake

A cold air intake should be the first on any list of modifications. Not only does it make your Lexus sound vicious, it also increases the horsepower, and believe it or not, it decreases your fuel consumption. Most air intake kits are not too hard to replace, so if you know your way around gloves and some basic tools, you can install them yourself.

6. Stabilizer Bar

When you are cornering at high speeds on the track, the stabilizer bar will make your Lexus feel extremely tight. This is a great modification for the ones looking to increase their overall vehicle's performance and handling. These bars connect both wheels and sides of your Lexus together, allowing it to turn at a much higher speed without losing control.

1st Gen RX'ers can view the thread here of the discussion on the stabilizer bar link and sway bar bushings.

7. Spoiler

Let's face it, you won't go fast enough to need a spoiler, but it sure looks great on a Lexus. Spoilers come in a variety of shapes, colors, and purposes, so depending on the theme of your Lexus, you should get what complements it the most. For instance, if you have your Lexus modified like a complete race car, having a high spoiler may complement that look, but if you're going for a more sporty, classy look, a lip spoiler may do the job.

Here are members of the RC forum thoughtfully discussion applying a spoiler via 3M tape instead of drilling holes to not mar the car.

8. LED Lighting

LED lighting is one of the most basic modifications that will make your Lexus shine, literally. Club Lexus enthusiasts are fans of LED headlight, taillights, and even fog lights, which make the Lexus look tremendously unique at night. If you want to take it a step further, you can replace the interior light bulbs with LED bulbs, which will put you in a nice mood each time you get in your Lexus.

Here is a forum member who got new LED taillights for his IS and is gauging the response from fellow members.

9. Body Kit

This is another visual modifications that could make your Lexus look different than the bunch. These kits come in different looks, some include the side-skirts, the bumper lips, and the spoiler, or you can get a kit that will change the entire look of your car, which replaces your bumpers, fenders, and even your hood.

10. Carbon Fiber Wrap

Carbon fiber wrap is a popular modification amongst Lexus owners. You can wrap almost any part of your Lexus, from the hood, the fenders, to the spoiler and the roof, and if you want to take it inside, you can wrap your dashboard, your shifter, or your center console, giving your Lexus a nice, sporty feel.

A flip on the wild side, here is a member who carbon fiber wrapped the interior of their IS.

11. Custom Engine Cover

If you're done customizing your interior, exterior, and some engine parts, why not dress-up your engine for when you open the hood? Some people like to remove the engine cover and paint over it, or you can buy custom engine covers that will fit right on your engine, making the inside of your engine compartment one-of-a-kind.

Check out this discussion HERE.

Painted engine covers you say? How about these?
