The original switch housing assembly top depicts split boss. This can be repaired by inserting a wedge in adjoining pocket and filling with epoxy. The screw holes can be repaired by rolling epoxy over boss threads. On replacement part, have begun process of filling pockets with epoxy to strengthen the mount bosses.

This is 1998 - 2000 ECT sensor. Notice the brass collar is missing at junction with exposef plastic base...so no lateral support.
Someone might not have thought this one through.

1999 LS400 sensor does not have a brass collar around the plastic base to bettee secure it as does earlier versions.
Based (no pun intended) on the issue with mine, the newer style does not appear to be a mechanical improvement.

This is right hand drive bulb diagram, but the same bulbs and more descriptive than North American bulb diagram. Replaced 4 all 83109-30070 bulbs and 10 of 90981-11018 bulbs below. All sockets were in good shape except "D" . Socket 83101-30050 (blue) is discontinued so swapped it with air bag socket.
