Sticky thread needed: General Fitment Guide
I'm looking over the various forums (or would that be forii?) for information about the stock wheel/tire combination for a particular Lexus model and how to stay reasonably close to the factory circumference when going with larger diameter wheels. I want this information, of course, so that when I purchase new wheels & tires, my speedometer/odometer readings remain as true as possible.
Here's an example of what I would be looking for. Note that all of the figures shown are fictional.
(First, list factory provided wheels/tires)
Model: GS300
Factory wheel: 17x8
Factory tire: 235/45R17
(Then, in spreadsheet form, provide range of options with circumference ratio [as a %]).
18" dia. ------ 8" w. ------ 8.5" w ------ 9" w. ------ etc.
235/45 ------ 105% ----- 103.5% ---- 101%
245/40 ------ 100% ----- 98.2% ------ 95.5%
etc.
Does this make any sense to anyone else? It would be nice if there was a sticky thread at the the top of this forum with this kind of information (it seems to make the most sense here).
