Hey, could someone please help me please???
I am looking to buy some lowering springs. And I want the best fit. I want to get rid of the gap, but I don't want to rub fenders. I have 225/18/40 tires, so should i lower it 1.5 or 2 inches? Anyone have experience with lowering it 2 inches on those tires, and having problems?

As far as rubbing is concerned, you should be fine with a 2 inch drop. Not too practical in my opinion...but looks pretty damn good

Mr who--
So, you've got 19's, with 2 inch drop and no fender rubbin?? Then, I'm definitely getting 2 inch lowering springs for my 225/18/40!! Thanks for reply!

With a 2" drop you have to worry about more than rubbing... Your clearance all around is going to be a couple of inches.. Trust me, you don't want to keep on replacing your front bumper every couple of months...

I don't know if allaround clearance will create a prob. I don't have a body kit, only ground effects.
well, I just want the best fit and to get rid of the gap. Because I've seen an IS lowered 1 inch, but it didn't even look like it was lowered.
Question for MR WHO-- what size of tires are those? And did you get those springs from speedandstyle.com? That's a pretty cheap price for 2 inch springs

The reason why I say that is because my friend has a Arms Design kit with stock 17's and no drop and he still scrapes the front.. You see with 18's and a 40 series tire your going to be pretty low...

1Phat, if I may call you that... That isn't my car. Here's the original thread from is300.net [link]
The guy that owns that car is actually the owner (I think) of speedandstyle. PM him for special forum member prices.
