Hey guys, my friend is going to buy 20" rims next week, and wanted to know fro you guys, which tire you recommend? I know this been talked about in the past just wanted your guys opinions again.

Basically its between YOKOHAMAS AVS SPORT or the BRIDGESTONE S-02 POLE POSITION.

At tirerack.com they gave the Bridgstone a #1 rating and the Yokohamas #3. But the custom rim shop reccommended the Yokohamas.

He needs a tire with as little noise as possible and good ride quality.

Thanks guys.

Yokohama is all about performance. It handles extremely well in dry condition, but not in wet road.

Bridgestone has better ride quality and handle better in wet condition than Yokohama. Lots of friends of mine use Bridestone S-02 and they are all pleased by it.

In your case, I'd recommend Bridgestone S-02.

On past cars I have run both. Probably to hit what your friend is looking for the Pole is the way to go, however if performance is a factor the AVS will CLEARLY out perform! but that's just my opinion backed up by a new set on the way.

inside info, D-Man
Hey D-Man,

How's going?

this is what i heard from a very personalble local tire shop owner. he likes to push the yoks because the profit margin is higher for him. the price offered by tirerack, hardly anyone can touch that. his conclusion is that if you have the $$, go for the S-02- it has slightly better ride quality.

though the street feedback seems to be splittting hair, just like what you read between RA and GSW.

For 245/40/18, Bridgestone S-02 is cheaper than Yokohama AVS Sport at tirerack.com

Very interested. I wonder how much and how good S-03 would be. It should be more expansive than S-02 consider it's the newer version.
