Default 19" offset question....(recommendations)!

I'm looking at a set of 19" wheels. I need to make a choice on the front offset so please let me know what you guys think...

What offset would you choose and why?
F - 19X9 ~37 offset or ~45 offset?

The rear size is 19X9.5 with a ~40 offset. Thanks again guys!

I'm running

F - 245/35/19 - 19x8.5 ~ 32
F - 275/30/19 - 19x9.5 ~ 38

too be honest i think i should have went more aggressive it looke=s good but its not as flush with the body as i wanted.

45 is very conservative and it will look tucked in the wheel well.

So you guys definately suggest going with the 37 offset over the 45 for the Front 19X9?

Is there a guide or something that explains offset. Cause i wanted to put some dub 19" shorelines on an 03 es 300. I'm not to familiar with offsets and what not. i just want the rim to be flush with the car. Also i want a smooth quiet ride if that is possible with 19 x 8.5" wheels all around. Any info would help out alot

My wheels are 19" X 8.5" 37et front and 19" X 10" 43et rear and they line up perfectly.

It depends. The +37 would be more aggressive but then the rear 9.5 +40 will be too conservative in comparison. I think it would look weird to have the fronts and rears line up differently.

How the wheel lines up also depends on tires, drop (since the wheel tips in as it is lowered), and personal taste (as perfect means different things to different people ).

Instead of a 19x9.5 in the rear, can you go with a 19x10? Or an 8.5 in the front, would be more proportional (if you can't get the 19x10).

37 is the way to go...

front spacing (from wheel hub to outermost lip of wheel) is:

19x9 +37: 83.5mm
19x9 +45: 75.5mm
19x9.5 +40: 87mm

the +45 on the front would tuck in almost a half inch (11.5mm) from the rears, whereas +37 wold tuck only 4 mm

i run 19x9.5 +35 and 18x8 +40, and I need to add a small spacer on the fronts to make them more even... (+40 was all that was available on the front in the wheels I bought)

If the outside wheel spacing between the front and rear is only a 3.5mm difference, wouldn't it be more logical to get the same size wheels?

I know there's a half inch difference is widths, but from an asthetic POV it will look like the same size wheel.

with his, it will look very close, as there is only 1/2" difference... I guess to me, I always wanted both front and rears as flush with the fenders as possible (and any difference being the same front and rear), with the only difference being inside width for tire fitment purposes... (the only reason to do staggered wheels IMO, is for fitment issues) I wouldn't want to run 275's all the way around, especially as nimble as the SC's are even with 225's up front...

That's just it, on a GS body it's going to need a minimum of +12mm outside spacing on the rear to have the same "flushness" to the body. That's why a difference of 1 inch wheel width (with the same offset) is ideal for the GS.

omg, color me stupid...

this whole time, I just blindly assumed he was talking SC400, not GS400...
