Default Wheel Problem

I have a problem I got a set of volk wheels for my sc300. The wheels originally came of the newer GS. However I tried putting them on but I notice that the studs are to short and I can’t bolt it on. So what I have to do is get longer studs correct? Well I called up a wheel shop in my area and they told me that they wouldn’t recommend that and told me to get new wheels. I really don’t want to do that. Is there away around this? Has anybody had this kind of problem?
thanks

i am surprised that the gs wheels fit on your car but the studs are too short. i thought the gs and the sc have about the same length studs. if you get quality studs i think it should be ok. maybe H&R?

go to a wheel shop in your area and have them test fit them with et shank lugs,,,,,,,,,,u must ask for et, if u get those and you get enough turns to be safe than your good to go, the shank at the end actually goes inside if the hole for the wheel and gets you more bite on the threads of the stud

heres a pic for example

This totally sucks, hopefully there is a cheap and easy solution for you and you're not left in the DARK. I thought all rims on Lexus were interchangeable except for trucks.

Good luck to you and keep us posted

I looked into longer studs for a lexus and there are not any out there..........unless you want to do some altering and reboring of the hubs and rotors..............the H&R's are an adopter with studs....your best bet is to get the right wheels .

actually i have seen separate studs from H&R, i forgot which spacer that comes with, 5 or 10mm?

and this is UNOFFICIAL. if you want, look out for the studs from the toyota highlander, 4runner, or the sequoia. i can't confirm, but i heard that they have long studs

It shouldn't have anything to do with the wheels.

The wheels he is referring too are the Volk AV3's that I sold him.

Jack, aka LexusFiend, test fit them on his SC300 with these lugs and they fit fine. No problems. They read 1.5. If you want, I'll ship these to you SickSC3.

oh so this is the reason.... yeah, you can't just use any lug nuts, the av3 have their own different type of lug nuts, you have to use these specificially! i am pretty sure with the corrent lug nuts it will fit for sure
