Dont get me wrong, it would work. I ran 240sx SE rims on a 300Z before, lighter wheel, better mileage. Easier to break the rear out and all, but Im not sure what his applications would be. And having the right tire also plays a role like you said, I'm just used to the traditional routine, which is going wider than stock.
But if he is looking for a set of dailies and a slightly better gas mileage, then these would be the way to go.
And if he is serious, these would be a sweet set of dailies!
