fyi the monarch and elite (same) led puddle lights are **** .
I had my car almost burn down because of the crap connections in them.
I daily my car and it see real winter weather so that may have effected there life as well as some of the led's dieing in them so they blinked .
Only problem is no one else makes them that is easy to get but the others that are more expensive look much better . These are cheap led's and the kit should really only cost $30 for what you get.

There are really no good led puddle lights, I even brought the cheap kind where it states "waterproof" they aren't, connections are bad, and they get dirt in them. That why I am looking for a different alternative like LED strips.

How did your car almost burn down? it sounds a little exaggerated, did it even catch fire? I've never had any issues. But I agree the connections were crap, so I decided to cut off the connections and solder them together and use heat shrink tubes to secure the connections. The "waterproof" part i think refers to the light itself I believe, its gel coated to prevent water from getting in, the connections on the other hand are a different story. Flickering is usually due to loose connection. After about 4 months I've had one burn out and they replaced it for free for me. I've ran mine for over 2 years now and never had issues.

I had my car door open for 5 minutes while i was working on another car beside it , me and the owner started to smell smoke then see it inside his car and we were checking everything then come to realize it was from my car instead . So i ran over and raised ti and tried to trace it down thinking it was part of the harness over the wheel then something clicked it might be the lights so i disconnected it and it finally stopped. its too cold for me to waste time to find what went wrong since i will have to replace them i will wait until i get a new set first .
BC also does not use salt the way Toronto does for snow which will compound any wiring issues causing shorts .
The flickering is single led's inside the housing , so not the whole light was flickering , so it is an internal to the light issue that cannot be fixed or prevented.
They are just cheap led's which are worth maybe $2 a piece if that as they are only bright because they face the ground 2 inches away .
Those dome style stick on puddle lights are ghetto. Why don't you go for the Monarch Puddle lights, they're flush mounted and waterproof. I got mine for $100 shipped
I am waiting on a shipment on these puddle lights and should get it real soon..
