Default 19s vs 20s wheels

Quick question for this with air set-up. I notice when looking throught VIP magazine, majority of the 2GS with air sit on 19 in wheels. What are the pros and cons with 19s over 20s? Is it because the body can sit lower to the ground...can tire be stretch more on 19s? Thanks

stretch has nothing to do with wheel height..

19's get lower to floor...

19's are perfect on the GS. That's why.

Its just preference on what you like. Some like tall tires, some like thin tires. You can modify a car to sit lower. Smaller wheels will get you that slammed look without any mods, but maybe fender rolling/pulling. Well, that depends on how VIP your going for, on your wheel setup.

Well, yes... but no.

235/35-19 = 25.5" overall diameter (typical VIP tire size)
235/30-20 = 25.6" overall diameter (Plus one from 19")

Frankly, 19s look a bit small on the 2GS to me.
But most "traditional VIPer's" go this route.
Why do something unique or "break the mold?"

Even my 20s are starting to look small...

Personally, I feel that the wheels are too close together when viewing the car on the side profile and that 19's would be the perfect choice if you do not want the wheels to over power the rest of the car. 20's don't look bad though.

Some other reasons why people don't go with 20's is because the wheels are more expensive. In some cases, the tires as well. You can also get lower to the ground with 19's compared to 20's with similiar sized tires

tire prices between 19" and 20" are a wash now, 20" are even cheaper with popular sizes.

it all depends on the size of car and if it has kit or not.

19" is perfect for 2gs stock

^ i agree with that (well stock body with some drop at least) 19s on the gs looks excellent

now put a kit on it and all the sudden 20s and 21s can look just killer

personally ive always found 19" tires to be more expensive than 20s...but maybe im not shopping wisely.

but yeah i think 19s fit a GS perfect. 20s seem to be a little over powering IMO.

i went 19s because my car is daily driven and i wanted flush fitment and nice ride height and it seemed i would need to run 30 series tyres to acheive this on 20s and thats just too narrow for daily driving comfort and leaves the wheels too exposed to damage for my liking

i went 19's to get a slightly better ride. tires are alittle thinner with 20's so i wouldn't be able to drive as aggressive.
