Default Stretch tire bead leak!

Hey guys I'm running slight stretch Nitto 555 275 on a 10.5 on the rear and this is my second bead leak. When I first got it I got it re mounted and sealed with bead sealer thinking it should do the job. Now probably 2-3 weeks later I come to my car this morning and it was almost flat. I don't want to keep having to get them resealed b/c its a pain and tedious. Those of you who get returning bead leaks, was it something that was wrong with the tire and just bought new ones? Please let me determine what I need to do...

Thanks!

That's strange. A 275 on a 10.5 is hardly a stretch. Maybe there's some sidewall damage?

Careful. when removing the tire, inspect the lip of where the bead would seal against the rim. Most shops uses a metal pry bar that can tear and damage that lip causing it to leak. Especially mounting big wheels with lower profiles, with the incorrect machine its really hard to rotate the tire to mount without damaging it some how

the size tire on the rim width is not stretched and should not have any problem. I would say you have a bent rim and when parked on the bend it deflates. Otherwise the tire is ripped as mentioned above or just a leak somewhere else. How do you know it is the bead?

It's not an extreme stretch, but there is a slight stretch anyway...

I found it was a bead leak b/c when I first got the leak a couple of weeks ago I found the leak by hearing a hissing sound and put water on it and say it bubble up. I filled up the air early this morning and it is still good hasn't lost any more air yet. We'll see how long it last

i recently seen 235's on 20x11 and 215s on 20x10... now thats a stretch... 275s on a 10.5 is not a stretch, as mentioned earlier check your rim/tire side wall/maybe even the valve.

is the rim damaged in anyway? I don't think its because of the tire size as you are not pushing it to any extreme.

if you are loosing air from the bead it was most likely damaged from the pry bar because 275 on a 10.5 the bead should hold just fine because its not even enough to call that a strech. I'm running 235 on 10.5" front and 275 on 12" rear and the beads hold fine.

haha, insomniac should be an expert on this.

from my experience at work, make sure when they are prior to inflating ur tire on the wheel, that the surface lip area where it touches the tire, "the bead", is clean. we've had flaking chrome pieces cause tire leaks. 275 on a 10.5 isnt too stretched at all, so it shouldnt be an issue with the stretch. always check the valve stem, these are almost always the first to go.

according to Nitto's site the NT555 275/30/20 is approved for rim widths from 9in-11in.

so again, its not a stretch, its not even running out of spec...

Yeah flaking chrome pieces caused my tire to leak. They smeared that bead sealer stuff and it has been holding up good. I lose about 6psi of pressure but thats over a couple of weeks. I just check them often to make sure they don't get too low on air and inflate them regularly.

Flaking. Chrome. Pieces.

Kind of self explanatory.
