even if you can read Japaneses, it probably wont make a lot of sense to you guys since its all about the subculture of Japan. I've been subscribing to it since I was in like 9th grade (Im 24 now LOL), but their articles arent that great. Nothing too technical, just debates and talks about matter like design and trend...and they always conclude that "this is the trend, but its always nice to see something original" or something like that.

I remember giving away my old Japanese magazines for free back in like 2000 at a local drag strip in Indiana when Civics were 'da ****' and everyone wanted my old Option magazine, and no one wanted my VIPCAR magazine b/c people said sedans were gay. Then the same people started wanting my Drift Heaven mag. ...now the same crowd wants my VIPCAR mag. I'm confused.

Anyways, IMO, America killed VIP. There are only a few really so-called "VIP" cars in the States, but almost everyone I have talked to think that a luxury car and slapping on big wheels = VIP. They dont recognize the front bumper that was elongated by 2cm, raising the wheel arch ever so slightly, and these minors mods thats like work of art and not just slapping big *** wheels like DUB.

I hope I didnt offend anyone, just my 2cents.

thank you, despite what you say...people will continue to be doing that crap and thinking that most DUB cars are VIPstyle, or taking it completely out of context. Either way VIPstyle is like an art, cirque de souleis if you will, and DUB is just a bunch of roid'd up body builders. My little analogy, if you wil...

i just saw the thread about the ES VIP, but GATO's ES is friggin awesome. Makes me consider buying an ES...

and yeah, VIP is still striving over here, but seems like people outside of Japan is confused as to what "VIP style" really is...the thing is there is no set definition, but those LS with twenty-fos' are not VIP.

According to Takahiro Taketomi, one of the self-proclaimed founders of VIP style, "true VIP style tuning is limited to only 10 Nissan and Toyota models: Nissan President, Cima, Gloria, Cedric and Fuga; Toyota Celsior, Century, Aristo, Crown and Majesta. That’s it." (AutoWeek 05/08/06)

Slooooooow you're right about the limited VIP models and any other car is just "VIP Styled". I plan on modding my SC to achieve a VIP Style look, everything from 5 inch lips, to perfect flush (*not tucked/sunk*) all the way to the rain deflectors and green VIP tint...

VIP is also doing luxury mods like Coco-bun stated earlier, something subtle, yet unique, that separates your car from the rest of the crowd. That is where a VIP tuner will truly show his/her taste and depth of pocket...
