Default Opinions please

So I was looking through my VIP Style magazine last night and came across the JOBLOOD white Aristo with the Brabus style wheels on it. What do you guys think? I know someone selling a set for cheap (knock offs of course) but the offsets are low 19x9.5 all around +28 offset front and +22 rear. Should I let go of my wheels and pick these up?! What do you guys think?!

These are the actual wheels

Here are my wheels on my car

since you would have to probably re-drill the wheels, id go with the knock offs. ive seen the brabus wheels on a GS and it looks pretty good. im assuming these are from a mercedes so they are 5x112. i doubt they would be 5x114.3

I was also looking through the magazine last night.

If you look around the beginning, you'll notice they use hub adapters that changes the PCD to 5x112 so it'll fit with no drilling.

I can't read japanese, but thats from what I can tell.

You can't have knock-offs and be VIP...its totally a contradiction.....

i believe its this picture that your talking about. i like the way the rims look with the car. the ones you are looking at are knock offs and enough people have already said their piece on how knock offs are a no no.

what you have to decide is whether you you care if people knock you on them or not. Someones always gonna have something to knock on you about not being VIP enough, your fitment, your stance, or something like that. the question is whether you can live with knock off wheels. im sure if you do get them and throw them on.. possibly with some spacers to flush it out more people will respect it and say it looks good. but there will also be those who knock you for buying knock offs.

id rather state both sides and have you make a decision on your own then tell you to buy them of not to buy them. something to consider.. good luck with you decision.

The real Brabus rims are sweet nectar...

Them being fake just totally turned me off. What sicklex stated is totally true, what is the sole reason of building your car around the VIP trend? It's not just a look, but gives your car presence and depth.

Of course, this is my personal opinion.

I have to give Brabus credit... they OWN that wheel style.

The only issue I have with them on a Lexus is that they scream "Mercedes wheel..."

I do like that basic wheel style... that's what inspired me to create the Zone 8 concept... but eight pairs of spokes instead of six...

Got damn Bob, you can post that pic evertime you post and I would not be mad.! What a car.

Xotic sC, exactly. VIP is not just about a "look" its kind of a "way"....knock-off and VIP clash. Its like me trying to say I want a track GS and I have 20" chrome Dub Spinners with all the TOMS/TRD suspension pieces.

that brabus style matches the GS just fine. It's a luxury wheel on a luxury car.

you match the STYLE'S, not the brand and perceptions.

as for replica wheels, you are actually wasting more money with replica wheels vs authentic japanese-european wheels. Why ? because replica knock off wheels have NO RE-SALE VALUE.

sooner or later you will be selling your wheels and when you do, you will realize that you'll either have to give them away or sell them for close to nothing.

look at the big picture

Outside the authenticity and brand issues, I would be most concerned with the hub adapters (convert 112 to 114) those things have a very murky history.

Personally I would just keep the ones you have now and save up for the real thing. Trust me I was in the same position and Im glad I waited till I could buy the real deal.

Good luck with your decision!
