Thoughts After 8 Months
Thought I would share my thoughts after 8 months of ownership...
All in all, I am pretty satisfied with the vehicle.
- The ride is okay, a bit bumpy. For a smaller vehicle, I suppose it is good.
- Disappointed that a Lexus does not come standard with Homelink.
- Gas mileage in the summer was good - around 40, now with colder temps - a disappointing 30+. Using heated seats/steering wheel does not help!
- Audio system sounds pretty good for a standard setup.
- Handling is fine - better in sport mode. Would be nice to have the sport mode handling in the eco mode.
- Storage space is not good, but I knew that going into the deal. Taking the rear tray out does help a bit.
- The wireless phone charger is worthless.
- Acceleration is average, at best.
- No issues to report.
All in all, I am pretty satisfied with the vehicle.

If it makes you feel better, UX has a beefier and stronger side structure than even new RX. And for 2023+, UX has lower injury measures for the driver in a side crash than new RX.
As an outsider I think the UX is the nicer of the RX and NX bunch. It has an original quirky stylish chiseled japanese design. the RX and NX look so generic. Just looking at the UX you can tell its a nicely designed car...all back in 2019.. and in reality 2018 in rest of world. i feel like it's a special car like the CT was.

It's a 2024h Sport Design with a little just over 4,000 miles. I typically drive in eco mode but have been using normal more lately to warm up the car faster. From one article I read, it is better to use the normal setting in the winter because it allows the heated seats/steering wheel to warm up.

2021 UX250h here. Coming from driving a X5 and RX, 440xi. It is slow, but tbh I dont find myself complaining about it driving here in Toronto. More than enough power for the city and highway.
My first hybrid, and I appreciate the smooth takeoffs thanks to the electric motor assist.
Was surprised at how it takes corners and curved onramps. Doesnt lean too much or feel like its about to understeer.
Build quality is generally good and aside from the crappy center console, materials are decent.
I appreciate that it's gone past the warranty with zero issues, and hope it will reach the 150k kms my RX went issueless before i gave it up. Thankful it's treated me nicely so far, thankful considering horror stories I've read of other brand counterparts
Read my other thread about how well it did in torontos winter storm
Im also surprised how many UXs I see in Toronto. Seems to be a decent seller among city people

18 months 11,000 M on UX250h Premium Black/Cream for work. No warranty issues, used mainly mixed highway/urban 2 hour to and fro daily commute, a lot of stop go traffic in the afternoon.
Fuel usage is 5l/100km or 47mpg, can't complain with this. The assisted systems keep out of the way only activate when needed.
Ride and steering are still good and very impressed with the steering. It's the only car I've owned after a time where the enjoyment has not replaced the ho-hum. Everything works with the way it's supposed to.
The UX250h is no speed demon, then again I rather trade points for reliability rather than spending time in a workshops and forking out thousands. Plenty of accel for merging on highways.

My wife just had 1st year service with around 9000 miles. Her gas milage is 35-40. She likes the car OK, but would really like it much more if it had hands-free liftgate. We were in a hurry to get her a new car and just assumed that any Lexus would have that and memory seats.

Don't feel too bad about not getting the hands-free lift gate. I made sure to get that on mine (2024), but find I don't use it as much as I thought I would. I assumed that the hands-free function would work in the same situations as when you could push the button to open the hatch - in other words, as long as the car is unlocked, kicking under the bumper should cause the hatch to open (or close). Nope - turns out that you have to have the key with you. Even then, it's inconsistent.
I agree about the memory seat. I didn't think I needed that, but I miss a memory driver seat, which my previous vehicle, a 2017 Subaru Forester had.
