Just bought a 2020 Lexus UX 250h base no nav with 1032 miles. Yes 1032 miles with carfax. Found a battery tender in the trunk so someone was charging while not driven. Anything to do with lane assist doesn’t seem to work despite everything I can think of turned on or set to max. BSM light is on and yellow icons in mirror, and adaptive cruise works. But any steering off center functions don’t seem to work. No beeps or messages. The steering vibrates when setting it in the menu but does not work when drifting lanes on the road. Lane departure is on. Am I missing a setting? Should I do a default reset and start over?

 

I checked the 12v battery just in case and it had a blue eye. I called the dealer where I bought it and they said bring it in right away. About 1/2 way there the functions that were not working suddenly started to work. Lane departure worked, the vibrating steering wheel worked and some road signs displayed. So maybe from sitting the car had to “learn” things again?

 

It's possible.

I had a CEL after my battery was drained when getting my windows tinted, installers were stupid and somehow drained it.

This also caused my LTA and BSM to not function right. About 48 hours later, all cleared up and worked just fine.

 

How ironic, I’m going Tuesday to have the windows tinted and ceramic coating put on the paint. I’ll advise them, thanks.

 

Just a reminder, these cars cannot stay in accessory mode for too long. The one and only time my battery drained, it was in accessory mode for less than half an hour. Note that I have nav so more electronics were running.

 

While trying to set all the settings in the car I ran the engine. Very confusing manual, seemed like more red caution warnings than descriptive instructions.

 

Ok, still not sure on LTA operation. Does it only work while the cruise is on? Does the steering vibration only kick in after driving so many miles?

 

Should be instant. Also dependent on how visible the road markings are. Sometimes when I have LTA on, and the road lines are very subdued, it doesn't catch it.

 

We took the 250h out yesterday on the highway and lane departure would not work until the cruise was set. We drifted slowly left and right and no steering vibration or beeps or lights. It does most times display the speed limit signs but only once saw a stop sign symbol on the dash. The lane departure was quite violent and I think if a cop was behind me I think he might of pulled me over as a suspected drunk. I may have turned the sensitivity down on that but will have to see next time out later today. I am pretty sure I’ll have to take it back to the dealer. I have had a Lincoln MKZ hybrid and Cadillacs with all the option’s and everything just worked without having to read a manual over and over again. My tech understanding has really declined being 71 yrs old. Thanks.

 

I will close this out by saying that I didn’t understand how conditions affect the LTA. Now I realize that on narrow roads and or poorly marked roads the LTA won’t work. So many odd settings on this car. The latest odd thing was why isn’t air blowing out of the rear console for back seat passengers? Well if no one is seated back there it doesn’t need to blow cool air so it is shut off! Gheez! Thanks for educating this old man.
