Android Auto in 2026: Gemini added, does it work?
For anyone here using Android Auto? I just got Gemini enabled, and the first time I tried to make a call, it told me it does not have access to my contacts. Gemini as the assistant in Auto is slowly rolling out. I do have a Google Workspace account, so my experience may not be typical of a normal user that just has a gmail account. I am also the administrator of that Workspace so I have given myself all the permissions (some are off by default).

One small thing I've noticed, it could just be me, and I am by no means an audiophile, or sound engineer, but there is a noticeable sound quality difference between using Spotify through Android auto as opposed to using Spotify without Android auto. I prefer playing music without Android auto, music sounds a lot more rich and full, I don't have to turn it up past 25 volume to enjoy music and on the rare occasion I am in the vehicle alone, and I really want to rip it, I turn it up in between 37-40, top-notch listening experience during drives!

My AA seems to have calmed down and works as it should now.
