Yes, they updated the amp awhile back to version >1400. My TX 550h+, built last July, has amp version 1401 and sounds great.
But I do think there are owners who prefer very high amounts of bass since I’ve read some comments that after the amp replacement it still didn’t have as much bass as they want.
I find the audio to have exceptional clarity. And very tight and punchy low end. Drums sound fantastic. I think it is designed for audio accuracy, which is what I prefer. Though I only listen from the driver’s seat. I can’t speak to the quality in other seating positions.
I think it sounds best with surround-sound turned OFF.

Great!!! How is the overall sound insulation in the car? I have severe sound sensitivity.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking how quiet the car is? If so, I don't have something to compare it to. I know I've have seen some YouTube video reviews with some reviewers stating they felt it was the quietest Lexus model. It's a quiet car to be sure. But you can still hear some road noise on rougher pavement and in hybrid-mode you can hear the growl of the engine. But that growl is not loud. For example, listening to music and moderate to low volume seems to cover the engine noise. In EV mode, the drive train is absolutely silent inside the car.
I'm going to be honest. The ML system in our TX hasn't really wow'ed me. The sound quality is good to great, depending on the song. But not outstanding.
And I get vibrations from the bass if I try to turn it up at all.
The B&W in my Volvo V60 is much better in every way.
I have a 25 IS 500 with ML. I find it terrible. My Acura zdx with B and O sound is a huge upgrade. I was thinking about a TX as the IS is not big enough for me. But I have to be honest, might have to scratch Lexus off the list, which is a shame. The BMW upgrade system is also great. Hate to give up on Lexus. Anyone do anything to bring it up to luxury car standards. I do enjoy Classic rock, LOUD and I'm an old fart. I find myself listening to smooth jazz in the Lexus as that's the only thing that sound ok
