Compare TX and RX?
Hi everyone - I am finally ready to buy a Lexus after many years of owning German vehicles and being killed on maintenance. The problem is that my spouse loves driving her Benz GLS and feels the RX looks too much like a station wagon. Alas the LX price is a bit too steep
So I am looking at the TX now and was wondering if anyone here has previously owned an RX and can compare these models.
We do not get snow in California but we do drive to Tahoe a few times a year and sometimes get caught in a storm, so winter handling is important.

I had a 2016 & 2020 RX with zero problems. It drives & rides a bit floaty nothing like a German SUV and won’t perform better, but you won't have those German SUV high maintenance cost.
We didn't choose the RX for any of those performances, but for a comfortable ride and drive. We traded the 2020 RX for a 2024 TX350 which gave us plenty room for the grandkids and luggage when the 3rd row seat is down.
The TX drives rather large coming from a RX, but a smoother ride. You won't win any races on an obstacle course but the ride and drive to me is excellent. Enough power on the hwy but didn't purchase this to win races. The gas mileage isn't the greatest, the best I got with premium is 24mpg.
I suggest taking it for a good test drive and try parking the beast because it does drive large, and make sure it fits in your garage. The sales guy told me that some customers had to negotiate a return.
After a little over a year of ownership, me & the wife are pleased. By the way it is her vehicle…
Good luck and hope this helps…
