I'm guessing he has Model S or X which are low volume/low production cars with more quality issues with their door handles and trim. (I'd still get one though)
Model 3 and Y door handles (particularly after 2022) are extremely stout. i haven't seen issues with them. Mine feel solid.
i'm at 20,000 miles and two years on my 2023 Y and it's been supremely reliable. Only issue i had was the steering wheel leather was beginning to form a bubble, so Tesla mobile service came to my house and replaced the steering wheel in literally 5 minutes. no questions asked. dude got out of his service vehicle with steering wheel in hand. didnt even need to open the car for him, he opened it remotely after confirming which car is mine. job was done in 5 minutes, free of charge.
tire issues, yes twice, but that's just cause i ran over screws (twice) -- that can happen on any car.
I wasn't going to go there, but since you did.... 2023 Model Y AWD long range, 28k miles on it. Other than tire rotations and cabin air filter (did it myself), no other maintenance required. Did have some condensation in one of the rear tailgate lights, Tesla Mobile service changed it at my work in 10 minutes, didn't even have to talk to him, popped up in the app when he arrived, and when he was finished. Just bought a 2024 Model 3 AWD long range, rides like a luxury car, as fast as a lot of sports cars, costs almost the same as a Corolla.
Back to Lexus. Pretty disappointed in their vehicles now. IMO priced way to high for what you are now getting. If I wanted something like an RX350, I would probably go back to a 2020 or 2021
I know this may sound out of place here, but I've owned ONE Acura—a 2015 MDX Advance—never, ever will I own an Acura again! I traded my LS460 for a 2023 Palisade Calligraphy—yes, a Hyundai - my first trip to the dark side! The Grand Highlander/TX were unavailable yet, but so far, the Hyundai has been flawless. But I missed the luxury of my LS which was the best car I've ever owned, so I traded the MDX for an RX350h with expectations of the 'Lexus Experience", and I'm seriously disappointed. The technology in my Palisade puts the RX to shame - Lexus has cut corners everywhere and the quality is not what I've come to expect. The Lexus dealership experience sucks. I'm not sure I'll ever buy another Lexus after my experience... I'm wondering if Genesis is the new Lexus??? What a shame!

As someone who was a longtime Toyota/Lexus buyer for over 30 years, I feel for you. Somewhere along the line, the company lost what it once was. Today I wouldn't go near any Toyota or Lexus products. I now own two Tesla's and an Ioniq 5, and have never looked back
There is a study that shows 50% of EV owners have buyers remorse. consumer reports shows EV have 79% more problems than ice vehicles. Your talking about quality and you're in a Tesla. LOL JD Power ranks Tesla third worst in initial quality Lexus 8th. The worst and second worst both EV manufacturers. They're 26th out of 30 in dependability with Lexus #1.

Tesla has a 65 percent loyalty rating, which is why the model Y pretty much outsells anything Lexus sells, and everything Toyota sells except the RAV4, which is only by like 100. It's also the best selling SUV in California.
I don't want to make this a Tesla vs Lexus thread, I'll just say, how many EV'S have you owned? I've owned/leased 5 since 2020. Will never, ever purchase a Toyota or Lexus product again, except maybe an LC500 or IS500 as a weekend car. And I can care less what JD Powers writes as they paid shills
Drive what you like and nobody cares. We're here to discuss Lexus products and since you'll never purchase one - bye bye! EVs are for few and far between.

Oh for sure I won't. I definitely don't want to have discussions with people who get easily bothered where they turn to being rude. Bye 🤣
Don’t blame the OP for complaining. Mine went back to the dealer nearly 10 separate times. I am done with Lexus.
1. complete brake job done on all four corners with the rotors being turned.
2. Had dashboard squeaks. Then trim was scratched and replaced.
3. Had driver seat squeaks. Replaced entire seat.
4. entire sunroof frame replaced for creaking
5. Software update
6. A pillar now rattles after airbag recall
7. Speaker grill rattles after airbag recall
the list goes on. It’s an awful first model year car and an awful Lexus. Would Not recommend to anyone.
just dumped for a 2025 bmw x5 50e. Very happy.

Depends on if you need the Lx and your priorities. For me, as a city dweller with trips to the cottage in the summers and ski slopes in the winters, the TX as a daily driver and family hauler is ideal. I love the LX, build is superior but yes mpg is really poor, and the off-road function just doesn’t fit my lifestyle. With the newer interior, tech, cargo space galore, and superior mpg, I would go for the TX. Personally I wouldn’t worry about these posted issues considering thousands of TX have been sold. I have full confidence in Lexus to have worked out kinks in early builds/manufacturing by now.
Hopefully they have addressed the issues described in these posts. I purchased a 2025 and have zero issues so far. Only thing so far is I am not getting the 27/28 mpg. So far around 20 but it’s cold out and not nearly broken in yet. The power upgrade over the TX 350 is substantial.
Only a couple problems but had the dealer fixed. Since then, no issues that I have noticed. Been pretty happy with it although I think it's quite pricey for what one gets.

Well, aren't we special?
I've been a loyal Toyota/Lexus customer for MANY years and based on my 24 RX I agree that the brands are falling behind and are no longer the vehicles - but I'm sure nobody cares.
