Has anyone been able to install a trailer hitch on their TX that didn’t come from the factory?

 

I recall the dealer saying it was $2,000+ to install the hitch as it has something to do with the bumper (similar to the RX series). It's not a typical aftermarket hitch to frame sort of thing as I understand it. At some point there might be a decent aftermarket hitch available.
The other factor is without the factory hitch - you do not get the tow ready package with better engine and transmission cooling. Last I checked, about 20% of TXs have a factory hitch.

 

just had a similar experience. looked at a vehicle and they said they wouldn't call the factory to add a hitch. told me it would be $3500 to add once the car arrived. passed on it and went to another dealer and bought a car with a tow hitch factory installed ($1390 option)
