19inch Rims for a gS400
I had a quick question. I'm planning to get 19 inch rims and tires for my car..the tire size will be 255/40/19's.....How much approx. will this raise the height of my car? Or will it just fill up the wheelwell? I'm trying to avoid touching the suspension/springs on the car since i value the luxury ride so much. Feedback please...thanks

the overall diameter is a bit too tall(more than 3%) compare to stock..so, you might run into rubbing problem
to lessen the wheel gap, you need to lower th car, not just with taller tyre

actually that's VERY tall. the correct size to get should be 245/35/19. so if you get 255/40/19 that's a lot taller than spec. if you get 245/40/19 that's already the size of 20" rims with 245/35/19 tires, and a lot of people already have rubbing issues, so with the tires you mentioning here it's not looking good
why don't you get 19" with correct size tires and drop your ride instead?

i'm willing to go 245/35/19's....i'm trying to avoid lowering the ride because of the loss of the luxury ride...If i do lower it i will lower them with the Eibach PRO KIt springs that lower it 1 inch front and back.

Regardless what you do, your going to endup wanting to lower your car after the new wheels are on.. GS4Will just sold some nice springs to FutureGS and he said that the "Lexus" ride quality it still there with a nice drop.. I think it was just over a 1.5" drop. Since ride quality is really important to you, talk to Will and see what he can do..

Outside tire diameter with the 255/40/19 will be 27.04" unloaded. The stock 17" tires are 25.32" o.d. and the stock 16" tires are 25.74" o.d., so you would be about 6% bigger -- not good. You would also probably have rubbing problems in front.

you can have the cake(by lowering with nice JDM springs or eibachs or HR) and eat it too(retain almost stock like ride quality)
