Getting a Stuck Wheel Lock Out of a 21mm Socket?
Any of you got any brilliant ideas for getting a stuck wheel lock out of my 21mm socket? (I don't have a bench vice)
Incase you wondering how i got it stuck. I lost the wheel lock key and had to hammer a 21mm socket onto the wheel lock. Got it out easily but now the problem is getting the wheel lock out of my socket so i can re-use the socket..
already tried throwing it on the ground hard, tried hammer and chisel, tried hitting with a chisel on the ground, tried putting it between 2 bricks and hammer it broke the brick, tried pb blaster, nothing worked

when I had to do the same for my wheel locks I just went to autozone and bought some cheap sockets and chalked them up as a loss, prior to that I did have a bench vise at work and removed them like that. but is it worth it unless you have expensive sockets????

piece of sturdy metal (think heavy duty screwdriver) that fits through the square drive part of the socket, hit it with a hammer... try and find a vice to hold it in place, but I've never really had one bad enough to need a vice...
also, you could get a bolt or wheel stud that is 12x1.5mm thread the lock onto the bolt, then hit the socket with a hammer back and forth...

Thanks for the help guys! I finally got it out!!
I had to put it back on the wheel stud with the wheel off the hub. Heat it up with a heat gun and banged the **** out of it with a hammer. What a !@#$%^. Well at least for future reference this is how i got it out. I repeated the process with the other 3 wheel locks so I know for sure it works just takes a good beating with the hammer after you bolt it back on. I then went to sears and got me a new 21mm socket under warranty. So all is good in the hood!
