Need best warranty/quality wheel rec for LS460
Need to replace leaking (told by tire store that rust has formed inside wheel, preventing a good air tight seal - new wheels or refinishing old ones are the options) 3 yr old all chrome 20"x 8.5/9.5 Voxx "Ancona" wheels. Want to keep the same Michelin Pilot Sports 245/40 on front and 275/35 on rear. Car is blk on blk.
Looking for recommendations for the top 3 wheel brands a/o the manufacturers with the best warranty (really don't want to replace wheels every 3 yrs). Also, the best value for the money overall - would also be helpful.
Thanks!

Your issue would not be covered by any manufacturers warranty after 3 years (to my knowledge at least). Chrome finish is notoriously bad like this... OEM wheels seem to be the best, but they often have the same type of issue.
Other finishes do not suffer from the same fate, so I might suggest a different finish...

didn't know that about chrome finishes - great tip, thanks. Which brands have strong reputations (2-3)? Would a "silver machined" (Vossen) finnish be immune to this issue?

what happens - when a tire is mounted, we use a water based lubricant in order to get the tire mounted easily and safely... the lube sits between the tire and the wheel and it corrodes - also, water works its way down between the tire and wheel... On top of all of that, heat cycling does its number on the chrome, especially where it comes in contact with the tire... Even if an aluminum wheel (not plated) corrodes in this area, it can be cleaned off... with a chrome wheel, the chrome starts to flake off and it is almost impossible to clean the flakes off... the only real option to get it completely clean is to take it to a wheel repair shop or similar place with a lathe and have it "turned" off...
So, even if another wheel corrodes, it won't matter, because it can be cleaned off...
Generally, wheel manufacturers give a 1-2 year warranty on chrome, 1-3 year warranty on finish, and a lifetime structural warranty, though there are exceptions...

Mitsuguy - thanks for your explanation - big help!
Jav - 5 yr on finnish - that's sounds good to me. I think you helped me narrow my search down.
