Can this tire be plugged safely?
Less than I week after I had these tires put on, I got a screw stuck in one of them. Needless to say, I didn't get roadside protection. Do you think it can be plugged safely? I know there's always a chance that it'll blow, but do you think the chances are good that it'll be okay? I have a mechanic friend that says he's seen tires punctured in this area plugged many times and they've been just fine. If it's too dangerous to be worth the risk, I'd rather just shell out the $250 and get a new tire... Thanks!

Nobody will do it for you out of fear of a lawsuit.
In truth though I bet that there are many tires are out their with much more serious internal cord damage due to impacts that represent a far greater risk than repairing this would pose.
Been there & its a shame. I can't even find a "vulcanistadora" willing to do such repairs any more.
