Default Whats wrong with my Bridgestone RE960 PS?

I bought these about 24K miles ago. They're the Bridestone RE960 PS tires on my 20" rims.

Just about 1-2months ago I got a flat tire. I was just down the street from my house so when I took a look at it. It didn't look that bad. So I drove it back home and as I was turning into the driveway. I heard this weird thump noise coming from the front passenger side. I looked at the tire and it came off half way towards the inside of my car. I got it replaced with a new tire.

Then just 3 weeks later, my brother borrowed my car and on the freeway the tire sensor warning light came on so he pulled over. Looked at the tire (the other old tire) and it looked like the tire ripped (See pic). This is the same thing that happened a few weeks earlier to my other tire..

Now, I'm wondering was I just unlucky and bought defective tires or my tire guy said it can happen if the lip got too hot and was touching the tire causing it to melt the tire and then ripping it.

Thanks for any anwsers.

I have 20x8.5 with 245/35 tires. Is that stretched?

you are just unlucky... that is classic runflat damage...

meaning it was driven on low (maybe not flat, but just low) long enough to overheat the tire...
