Mismatched tires..Really a big deal?
I have been getting so many opinions, but no "been there done that" or 'seen it work/not work" advice.
I am going to replace my rear tires(on an IS-F) and like to go wider. Stock they are Bridgestone Potena RE050A 255/35/19... I am thinking about going with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 265/30/19. The difference in tread pattern is not too noticeable, so it won't be obviously ghetto, and they are much better rated tire for less! My fronts have good life left on them...
What's the real deal??

To be honest with you, It's not worth it having mismatched tires and uneven tread wear to have wider on the rears.
Is it really going to make that big of a difference after you pay all that money and go through that hassle.
Call it a day and get 4 PS2'S, and get them wider on the rear.

the handling of your car will be completely unpredictable with mismatched tires... the guys at Lexus probably did a little testing with tire sizes and such... I would venture a guess that you would probably be working against every thing they did...
if you were insistent on wider tires, then get slightly wider front and rear and make sure you maintain proper diameters front and rear, as well as the proper ratio of tire size front to rear...
