How to roll rear fenders?
I put in my rims yesterday, and it sort of rubs when I go over uneven roads at semi-high speeds...like when I go over little hilly bumps on the fwy. I don't like the sound at all...makes me really nervous. Anyone know how to roll that rear fender to give more clearance?
I've got 18x9 +38, 275/25-18's on my SC300. Thanks

I'm sure the pros use something more sophisticated, but DIY types often use a wooden baseball bat. Insert the bat between the tire and the fender, and then lower the handle towards the ground until the upper part of the bat contacts the inner lip of the fender. Next apply just enough downward pressure on the handle to start compressing the lip, but not enough to buckle the quarter panel. Compress just a little bit, then move the bat to the next section and compress that a little. Don't compress the lip all the way to the fender before moving to the next section, as this can split the paint or cause sharp creases.
Hope this helps.

The proper way to roll a fender is with a "fender rolling tool" (go figure that hooks onto the hub and slowly pushes the fender lip into the body. You want to use this tool for several reasons.. first, other methods like the "bat" method will more often than not crack your paint. Cutting the fenders will hurt the structual integrity of the fender. (Not against accidents, but against little door dings-- that fender lip is there for a reason)
That said, the best thing to do is to buy proper sized rims with the correct offset to avoid hacking your beautiful car in the least.
